Project Description

Residents of Minneapolis, Minnesota will have a new way to enjoy the outdoors due to city funded pop-up parks - small modular decking built as expansions of city sidewalks, in three pedestrian heavy commercial areas! The pop-up parks are meant to attract the community to sit, mingle, and enjoy local businesses. The pop-up parks feature Bison Ipê Ribbed Wood Tiles and Bison Versadjust Pedestals as well as plants, tables, and chairs to create an inviting outdoor space. The pedestals and wood tiles make it easy for the pop-up parks to be dismantled in the winter and stored for future use in summer months. Nearby businesses will lose some parking spaces but will benefit from a free seating area, a positive for restaurants and coffee shops, while creating a more pedestrian friendly, community-focused neighborhood!
